Who we are

Our Editorial Team

Idevsa.com is written and fact-checked by an independent editorial team working to one standard: no claim goes live without a source you can open and check yourself.

Last updated

Idevsa.com is an independent publisher, not a clinic or a therapy platform. Nobody here provides therapy, takes referral fees, or gets paid to recommend a provider. What we do is research mental health care and explain it in plain language, so that deciding whether to start therapy feels less like guesswork.

This page explains who produces that work and what we hold ourselves to. Our editorial policy covers the sourcing rules in more detail.

How a page on Idevsa.com is made

Every guide passes through the same four stages before it appears on the site.

  1. Research. We start from primary sources: clinical practice guidelines, national health bodies, professional associations and peer-reviewed research. We do not start from other people’s blog posts.
  2. Writing. A writer turns that research into plain English, keeping the reading level accessible without flattening the nuance. Where the evidence is mixed or the answer is “it depends”, we say so.
  3. Fact-checking. Every factual claim, number and link is checked again against the original source in a separate review pass. Anything that cannot be traced back to an authority is cut or rewritten, not softened.
  4. Review and dating. Each page carries the date it was last reviewed, and we revisit pages when the underlying guidance changes.

The roles behind each guide

Writers research and draft the guides. Our writers are not clinicians, and nothing they write is clinical advice.

Fact-checkers and editors verify claims against primary sources, check that links resolve and support the sentence they are attached to, and hold the site to the language standards below.

Clinical reviewers. We are building a network of licensed mental health professionals to review our guides. If you are a licensed clinician interested in reviewing content in your specialty, we would like to hear from you: get in touch.

The standards every page has to meet

  • Sourced. Factual claims link to an authority you can open and check. Every guide ends with its full reference list.
  • Current. Guidance changes. Pages show a review date so you know how fresh the advice is, and outdated figures get corrected rather than quietly left in place.
  • Plain and stigma-free. We write “died by suicide”, not “committed suicide”. We avoid jargon where an ordinary word will do, and we explain the jargon that matters.
  • Honest about limits. We do not promise outcomes, we do not diagnose, and we say clearly when something needs a professional rather than an article.
  • Independent. There is no sponsored content and there are no affiliate links on Idevsa.com. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on the page where it appears.

What we will not publish

We do not publish invented statistics, made-up case studies, testimonials we cannot verify, or claims that a particular therapy will cure a condition. We do not publish anything that could push a person in crisis away from immediate help, and every guide links to crisis support.

Found a mistake? Tell us

Corrections matter more to us than being right first time. If a fact looks wrong, a link is broken, or guidance has moved on since we published, email hello@idevsaa.com or use our contact form, and please include the page address. We check reported errors against the source and correct the page if the report holds up.

Try “CBT”, “first session”, “cost” or “online therapy”.
